Cats come in all shapes and sizes, each with their own unique personalities. Barnaby, the fluffy Persian featured here, is known for his sad eyes, perpetual frown, and love for sleeping up to 20 hours a day.
Despite his gloomy appearance, Barnaby actually leads a content life. He may look bored or aristocratic, but who truly understands the inner life of a house cat?
While some may see his expression as unchanging, Barnaby can actually pull off a variety of looks. From the early morning grump to the perpetual bad hair day, he has perfected the art of the “pleas gib” face that many felines use to get what they want.

Barnaby is a quiet and independent feline who enjoys solitude, choosing to receive affection on his own terms. When he’s not napping, he can be found lounging in various spots around the house, munching on food, and simply being a typical cat. Surprisingly, he’s more relatable than one might expect!

Barnaby’s human shared some additional tidbits with Bored Panda about the moody but adorable furball: “Barnaby is turning 5 in May. He used to be the only cat until we brought in his little sister last year, though he wasn’t too thrilled about it. He’s quite pampered and spends most of his time snoozing, clocking in about 20 hours of sleep a day. He loves lounging on my (mom’s) chair, so if I want to sit, it’s to the floor I go. And forget about petting him unless he’s in the right mood. Despite his quirks, we absolutely adore him.”
